Explaining to Everyone What is Happening and Coming
(Blog 0018 AndrewHadden.org. Posted: 2025/11/09)
Out of love, compassion, and mercy, God wants people, the world over, to have an explanation of what is happening, and coming. God does not want people to feel like there is no hope, because there is hope. He does not want people to see themselves as too evil to ever be forgiven by God, and spared his judgment, because he offers forgiveness to those that ask forgiveness and earnestly repent, turning away from their past evil ways. No one is ever good enough to be spared by being a “good person.” People cannot be spared by their own good deeds. People can only be spared by asking God to forgive them for their having broken his rules, sins, based on God having sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die in their place, and pay the penalty for their sins, if they ask. And God gives grace, help, to start living a life obeying God. All we have to do is ask for his help, and keep asking.
All these things can be found in the Bible, which is a book made up of 66 books, written over a long time, by people chosen by God, and led by God to write what they wrote. The books of the Bible were eventually divided up into chapters and verses, to make it easier to refer to, and find, particular parts of it. The book of John, chapter three and verse 16, and the book of Romans, in chapter three and verse 23, chapter six and verse 23, and chapter 10 and verses nine and ten, are a good place to start to understand the offer God is making mankind to be forgiven our sins and go to heaven, a place of reward and protection. And Bibles are available to read for free on many websites, or buy in most any bookstore, and some are very inexpensive. However, to make this easy, I will put those scriptures right here:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV).
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23 KJV).
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV).
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10 NKJV).
If you have never read a Bible before, you might want to start with the first few chapters of Genesis, the first book, on God creating the heavens and the Earth, and man, and man falling into sin, disobedience, and judgment eventually coming on the whole world, but God sparing those who still knew and obeyed him. Then read the story of Abraham, who listened to and obeyed God, and Abraham’s descendants of whom God created a nation, from whom he could bring a savior, Jesus Christ. Then jump to the book of John on the life and ministry of Jesus, then Matthew, Mark, and Luke, also about Jesus and his teaching. Then you can read from the Book of Acts, to the end of the book of Revelation.
Then go back and read from Genesis up to Matthew (what is called the Old Testament). The Old Testament is important history, and has God’s moral rules for mankind, like the ten commandments, and other moral laws, but it is mixed with accounts of people doing things their own way and much history. It also contains ceremonial laws not applicable after Christ provided a better way of men coming into the presence of God, and being forgiven, than the rituals meant to point them forward to Christ’s eventual coming, and his once and for all sacrifice to pay the penalty for everyone’s sins, if they repent and ask.
But God is mostly interested in being like a father and a friend to each and every one of us. If you did not have a good father, think of him as beyond the best example of a father you ever saw, like a friend’s good father, or one in a book or movie. God made mankind, humankind, to be in relationship like that with him, with him constantly listening to us when we talk to him, and us learning to be always listening for his voice to help us through life, obeying him. It takes time, and effort, but we can learn to live our lives like that. The Bible is our guide to getting there.
God has, over many years, taught me to walk through life with him like that, always listening to God, and talking to him. He even eventually said he considers me his friend, and asked me to represent him, to the world, as one he calls, “My messenger,” even in scripture, in Malachi chapter three, verse one and following. That part of the Bible talks of his messenger being sent before him, to prepare the world for him coming. John the Baptist fulfilled that role the first time Jesus came, then Jesus left but said he is coming again – so someone will fulfill that role for his second coming, and Jesus hinted at that. He also asked me to fulfill another role, a role prophesied in the Bible, of being a defender and deliverer of God’s people in the end times. I did not want either role, but wanted to obey God in what he asked of me. I preferred being in quiet places, and roles, with God, rather than being in front of people, and leading them to do with spiritual things. That is another part of walking with God – he expects us to obey him in what we do with our lives. He has a purpose for us, and wants us to fulfill it. Some of us end up with many purposes. The more he asks of us, the more he helps.
I needed to mention the roles to which God has called me, so that you could understand why I would know the things that I know, about what is going on in the world. If I work for God, in these special roles, that somebody has to fulfill, because God will fulfill what he has put in the Bible, predicting the future, then it would make sense that I know more, a lot more, of what is going on, than a regular minister, or everyday Christian.
But please understand that I test everything by the Bible, and so should you. So, if you want to determine if what someone claiming to speak for God really is from God, start by reading, studying, the Bible – the accepted record of what God has said in the past. But one must be careful to interpret the Bible the way God interprets it, and that takes not just knowledge of the Bible, but also hearing God’s voice. But read the Bible for yourself. Don’t just let some supposed “expert” tell you what they say it means. Some other “expert” might well tell you something different, and you will have to sort it out for yourself, in prayer. And the Bible was not written for “experts,” it was written for everyday people.
When it comes to the end times, the times when Christ’s return is near, a lot of “experts” have already been wrong. You are better off knowing the scriptures for yourselves, especially what Jesus said, and doing what Jesus said to do – watch (be watchful), and pray. When he came the first time, it was people doing that, watching and praying, that recognized him first, and a lot of scholars, that knew more than scholars today, got it wrong. They wanted to make the Bible promise them what they wanted. There are many doing the same thing today. Beware those that ignore scriptures that don’t tell them what they want to believe, for themselves, and others. It will be the ignored scriptures being fulfilled, or fulfilled differently than people wanted to make them mean, that will make the end times very different from what they believed and taught.
We will all then need to reconsider the possibilities on end-times events. I know end-times views, and the scriptures they are ignoring, and Christ is emphasizing those scriptures, and interpreting them differently than I assumed. It only takes a little of interpreting symbolically what God intends to fulfill literally, or doing the opposite, to vastly change what happens in the end times. And some make big assumptions, but don’t tell people they are assumptions, and assumptions are dangerous. We will likely all be wrong in some way. We should be humble and reconsider how God may interpret and fulfill his word.
God wanted me to write this for the “clueless,” people having no knowledge or understanding of the Bible, or of the end times as taught in the Bible, at all. But that is really two categories, people knowing nothing about the Bible, and people knowing the Bible in some measure, but without much knowledge of what the Bible teaches about the end times. And keep in mind that the goal is to help people understand what is going on now, and how it relates to the Bible. I started by explaining the Bible in general, the story of God’s dealings with men, from the creation onward, through Jesus Christ, the Savior, coming to Earth, dying for our sins, being resurrected, and leaving saying he is coming back.
Biblical End-Times Events
Now let us proceed to explain events the Bible mentions to do with the return of Christ, the end times. I assure you, there will be things on the list that most people have not seen on a list of end times events.
The Fulfillment of Christ’s Parable of the Tares, the False Wheat Among the True:
Christ clearly identified this parable as prophesying an end-times event, yet few, if any, have put it on any list of end-times events that I have seen. Christ said, in privately explaining this parable to his disciples, after he had presented it to the public, without explanation, that it would occur “at the end of this age” (Matthew 13:40).
Here is Christ’s account of the parable of the tares:
24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' 28 He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?' 29 But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn"'" (Matthew 13:24-30 NKJV).
Note that Christ says, at the time of the harvest, “First gather the tares” [emphasis mine] and states that the purpose is “to burn them.” He does not talk of gathering the wheat and leaving the tares to be burned in the field. Some put a lot of stock in imagery, so they should notice this.
Here is the account of Christ explaining the parable of the tares to his twelve disciples, the apostles, privately:
“36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field."
“37 He answered and said to them: ‘He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!’” (Matthew 13:36-43 NKJV).
Here Christ explains that, at the end of the age, he will send forth his angels to gather “all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,” and “cast them into the furnace of fire.” So, in this parable, it is the wicked, the sons of “the wicked one,” “the devil,” who are removed from the scene first, not the righteous. For those that want an any moment rapture, before anything bad happens, this parable, and its clear explanation, does not fit – so it has been ignored by many teaching on the end times. It is much like the news media that does not report on things that do not “fit their narrative.”
I will quote verse 43, on the righteous shining “in the kingdom of their Father,” again, under another heading, as it prophesies an even bigger end-times event prophesied by Christ. It too has been ignored by many.
Now let us focus in on defining “those who practice lawlessness.” You might think that would be obviously evil people, breaking the law, and God’s laws, in front of everybody, all the time. But that is not the example given us, early in this very same account of Christ’s teaching, Matthew. We find the reference here:
“21 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' (Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV).
So here we see mention of people everyone would expect to be recognized and loved by Christ, and greatly rewarded for their great works done in Christ’s name, but he rejects them at the time of judgment. Why is that? It is because they “practice lawlessness.” Now, if they did that in public, they would not be standing listing their works before Christ, and everyone else, at the time of judgment or reward, would they? Then their arguments would draw ridicule and scorn. So, we must conclude that they “practice lawlessness” in secret.
Now, if you take these two parables together, we see that those who “practice lawlessness” in secret, are “sons of the wicked one” who is “the devil.” And, we see that they make a public show of their “good” works, and even being notable ministers doing great works or wonders, while practicing “lawlessness” in secret. That is exactly what my wife and I are eyewitnesses to – seemingly good “Christians,” even ministers, and missionaries, and denominational leaders, and their wives, who are really “sons” (followers) of “the wicked one,” “the devil.”
Note that there is yet another confirmation of this conclusion, in Matthew chapter seven, just before the above. There Christ warns of false prophets, false men of God, false ministers, who are really wolves in sheep’s clothing, among the flock. He says, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:15 NKJV). He warns that within they are really ravenous wolves – who attack and devour sheep. But they do it in secret. What would be the point of coming in sheep’s clothing if you are going to attack the sheep in plain sight? Since Christ compares himself to the good shepherd, and us to sheep, the imagery is clear.
God’s Prophets Predicted to Come in the End Times:
As I mentioned already, there are “roles” predicted to be fulfilled before the return of Christ. Those roles are prophets predicted to come. There are several scriptures predicting that. And please note that John the Baptist fulfilled several prophecies, several roles, for Christ’s first coming, and Christ talked about that. There is the one scripture calls “my messenger” from Malachi 3:1 and following. I say “and following” because the original Hebrew is unclear as to whether the messenger or the “Messenger of the Covenant,” Christ, is in reference in verses that follow.
Then there is being the Elijah which is to come, before a time of great judgment, mentioned in Malachi 4:5-6. Christ referred to a fulfillment of that coming in the future, after John the Baptist had been put to death, after saying basically that John had fulfilled it. And note that Christ taught multiple fulfillments of end-times prophecies when he referred to the “Abomination of Desolation,” spoken of by the prophet Daniel, as future, when it had already been fulfilled once, before the time of Christ, and his hearers knew that.
Then there are the two predictive symbolic types in Zecheriah chapters three and four, where the high priest and the governor are presented, in correct translations (which you may have to look for), as signs or wonders or similar descriptions, meaning they are symbolically predicting ones to come in the future. Note that they are symbolically presented as sources or channels for the dispensing of olive oil, which is used in scripture to symbolize God’s anointing, or enablement, for leaders and others. They are called “the two olive trees.”
Then note that, in Revelation 11:3-12, there are the “two witnesses,” called two prophets, identified to come in the end times. Note that they are also identified with, “these are the two olive trees,” clearly identifying them as fulfilling the symbolic prophecies of the two leaders in Zechariah chapters three and four. Thus we should expect these two prophets to come in the end times, and in time to dispense God’s anointing for his people in the end times – while Christians are still here – not just after God has removed Christians in the rapture. Since one of the two prophetic types in Zechariah three and four was the governor, we should expect that at least one of these two prophets in Revelation 11 would also be in government. Since one of the types was the high priest, we should also expect that at least one of the prophets in Revelation 11 would also be in leadership in the Church.
There are those that ignore this link to the two witnesses fulfilling the symbolic prophecies of Zechariah three and four – because they don’t want any evidence presented against their assumption of an any moment rapture, without preceding clear signs. (But teaching this is in no danger of revealing a day or hour of the rapture, which scripture tells us we will not know.) In doing so, they rob the Church of the hope, presented in Zechariah three and four, of leaders dispensing great anointing to masses of leaders, most likely to fuel a great end-times revival and harvest of souls.
The fact that the two prophets of Revelation are called the two “witnesses,” needs explanation. I would point you to the example of the prophet Ezekiel, in Ezekiel chapter eight, being a given a grand tour of evil going on in secret, even being done by leaders in God’s house, the temple. Then God unleashes judgment in Ezekiel chapter nine, starting with the leaders in his house doing evil in secret. God uses prophets to defend his good heart even when he has to judge great evil going on in secret, being done by leaders appearing holy, to the public. They act as his witnesses. That would explain why the two in Revelation 11 are called his two witnesses.
I should mention that many would see the two witnesses as fulfilling the prediction in Malachi 4:5-6 of an Elijah to come before the day of the Lord, judgment. Many would see the two prophets in Revelation 11 as fulfilling that prophecy, because they are said to pronounce judgments/plagues, like Moses did, upon a nation oppressing and enslaving God’s people, and killing their children. And they call down fire, like Elijah did – on the soldiers of a wicked King who was slaying God’s prophets. In these roles they are defenders and deliverers of God’s people in the end times.
The Resurrection and Transformation of God’s People:
Many scholars would point you to First Corinthians chapter 15, as the resurrection chapter. However, it could also be called the transformation chapter. It does cover the resurrection of the righteous dead, those made righteous by the blood of Christ, shed to pay the penalty for their sins. They are brought back from the dead and given new eternal bodies. But it also covers Christians that are alive at that time being transformed into spiritual, supernatural, bodies as well. And there is no mention in that chapter of the rapture – though many have taught it like there is. Many have tied those alive getting new spiritual bodies to the time of the rapture, but the scripture does not make that connection, and not even in this main text where that transformation is mentioned at length. It is assumed, by many. But that is not how it is going to happen.
Let’s consider some more scriptures, typically ignored by many. Christ appeared shining, glowing, in his supernatural body, in the book of Revelation. And in 1 John 3:2, we are told: “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (NKJV). In the resurrection and transformation chapter, it says: “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep [die], but we shall all be changed -- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 NKJV).
So, we see the resurrection of the dead mentioned, and the transformation of those alive in Christ, but the rapture is not mentioned as the context. And we are told we will be transformed to be like Christ when we see Christ. Also note that the scripture says the dead in Christ will rule with him a thousand years, in the millennium (Revelation 20:6). And there are scriptures on the empowerment of God’s people: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31 KJV). So, we will see a resurrection of the dead in Christ into spiritual bodies, and the transformation of the bodies of those alive in Christ, in preparation for ruling with Christ for a thousand years.
The Millennium, Christ’s Thousand-Year Reign – In Person, or Not:
The millennium is Christ’s one-thousand-year reign of peace and prosperity for his people. It is taught in Revelation chapter 20 and its nature is generally held to be described in Isaiah chapters 11 and 65, though chapter 65 speaks of the new heavens and the new Earth as well, and some appears to apply to that. It should be noted that the Church is divided as to the relative positioning of the millennium versus the tribulation. They are also divided as to whether Christ rules physically present or through his people.
Note these scriptures, in the book of Revelation, about God’s people ruling:
“25 But hold fast what you have till I come. 26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations -- 27 'He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's vessels' -- as I also have received from My Father;” Revelation 2:25-27 NKJV). [Verse 27 is quoting Psalm 2:9.]
“21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’'" (Revelation 3:21-22 NKJV).
So, some see the millennium as coming before the tribulation, and Christ ruling through his people in the millennium. Christ shocked me by endorsing this view to me. It does result in a much more positive view of the near future than expecting the tribulation at any time. Others see the tribulation as coming first, followed by Christ’s physical return and his one-thousand-year reign being in person.
God’s New Nation for Protecting His People:
Jesus Christ, and the biblical prophet Daniel, both prophesied God’s people being in a new nation founded by God, and being transformed, shining/glowing as those in supernatural bodies do. It is in Matthew 13:43, at the end of the parable of the tares, and Daniel 2:44 and Daniel 12:3, listed below.
“Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 13:43 NKJV).
“And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever” (Daniel 2:44 NKJV).
“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” (Daniel 12:3 KJV).
The book of Revelation warns God’s people to come out of “Babylon” to avoid her sins and her plagues. Most would consider “Babylon” to be the world’s ruling system of nations, and my seminary eschatology (end times) professor taught me that, and God confirmed it to me. And the book of Revelation says a lot about “Babylon” having fallen, and the judgment on them being very severe. Scripture warns of another exodus coming, a massive one, from many nations, in Ezekiel 34, Zechariah 10, etc. And in Zechariah 2:11 it says, “Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst . . ..” (NKJV).
But the parable of the wise and the foolish virgins, and some being ready, with oil in their lamps, and some not, will be fulfilled. There were those not ready to go out to meet the bridegroom [Christ], when he comes, but all were virgins. (See Matthew chapter 25.) Christ, at the end of the end times teaching in Luke 21, verse 36, warned sharply about being counted “worthy to escape” and listed, just above that, behavior to avoid. Those that remain, untransformed, will have to hide from the Antichrist and learn to live primitively, and will not be enabled, or allowed, to make the great exodus to God’s new protected nation for his people. Thus there is mention of martyrs in the book of Revelation, even though God has provided ways for his people to be protected. And Christ spoke of differences in rewards when he returns, based a person’s behavior in this life.
The Tribulation, a Seven-Year Time of Trouble:
The tribulation is a seven-year time of trouble spoken of in the book of Revelation. Christ, in his end-times teaching in Matthew chapter 24, Mark chapter 13, and Luke chapter 21, also spoke of a time of trouble coming. Christ also spoke of a time preceding that, referred to as the “beginning of sorrows” or “birth pangs,” depending on the translation. Many see much of Christ’s teaching in those chapters as already fulfilled in the time of the siege of Jerusalem, and the destruction of the temple, in A.D. 70, but many see at least a good portion of it as yet to come. And then there is the matter of prophecies potentially being fulfilled more than once. And the use of “seven” in the lists of various judgments, in the book of Revelation, could likely be a symbolic reference intended to indicate completion, not actual groups of seven particular events. The reference to numbers of days is held to be more literal, but one should note that their years were 360-day years. Also note that the prophet saw scenes in visions in sequences that apparently were not intended to teach chronological order. So, it is best to do what Christ said and watch and pray – knowing the scriptures, so you know the events or conditions for which you are watching.
The Antichrist, How Many, and When:
Many take note of the Beast, elsewhere called the Antichrist, being revealed in the book of Revelation, during the tribulation. He is a world leader empowered by Satan, and set to persecute, even unto death, the saints (God’s people, Christians and Christian Jews). He is doomed to destruction when Christ returns physically. In the book of Revelation, the Apostle John calls him “the Beast.” In his letters, also in the New Testament, John used the term “Antichrist,” and indicates there can be more than one antichrist over time, and there were some in his day. We need to take note of that.
The Antichrist is rising by subterfuge within nations, not conquest from without. Many conclude he rises by conquest because the first rider of the book of Revelation, chapter six, goes forth “conquering and to conquer.” But nothing in that passage, or anywhere else, says that rider is the Antichrist. Christ applies that to conquest happening all over, matching his warning against wars and rumors of wars. He talks of the Antichrist rising by subterfuge within nations – subterfuge like bribery and election fraud. He even named someone whose name nearly everyone would know, as currently holding that title. When he dies, that title will be passed to another, much like the mantle of the godly prophet Elijah passed to his understudy, Elisha. So, we have an ongoing battle against whomever Satan puts in that role. But “the Beast,” is the final and most extreme fulfillment of that title.
The Rapture, and God Protecting his People:
The timing of the rapture is debated a lot. Some argue for a pretribulation rapture. Others argue for midtribulation rapture. Still others argue for a post tribulation rapture. Honestly, Christ told me that a pretribulation rapture is not in scripture, and that it is wishful thinking. Of course that must be tested by the word of God, the Bible. I was taught a pretribulation rapture for many years, and hoped for it. I considered a midtribulation rapture, and then a “pre-wrath” rapture.
Many dearly want to assure people they have nothing to worry about, quoting one particular scripture: “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ” (First Thessalonians 5:9 NKJV). That assures that God does not intend to pour out his wrath on us. It does not assure us of a rapture before anything bad happens, which is the impression many make in teaching this. And it is not logically sound to argue that this scripture assures us of being gone before anything bad happens. God did not guarantee us protection from the wrath of man, or the Antichrist. And people making this argument on this scripture are arguing that there is only one way God can protect us from his wrath, and it is by removing us by way of the rapture. That is simply not true. God could use other ways stated in scripture, prophesied, to protect his people. That includes transformation of his people into supernatural bodies, and, at his appointed time, gathering them into one new nation, from all nations – and that is in scripture, but ignored by most.
The New Heavens and New Remade Earth:
Many teachers have given most people the impression that Heaven is the final destination for God’s people. Actually, it is not. After the millennium, and the tribulation, and after God removes his people from the Earth, there will be a new heavens and a new Earth. See Revelation 21. How the Earth is made new is revealed in Second Peter chapter three. It speaks of a renovation by fire. How that could happen could be an asteroid strike so big that it fractures the Earth’s crust in a wave, bringing fiery molten lava to the surface, all over. The whole Earth would then see fire, all over, destroying the surface of the Earth as we knew it, and be made new.
Look at this passage in Second Peter:
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?” (2 Peter 3:10-12 NKJV).
Then God must provide for soil, and vegetation, and animals, etc., much like the process in the book of Genesis. Then God’s people will return to a planet that is like a restored Garden of Eden, where no animal will harm another, or humans, even children. See Isaiah chapter 65 and verses 17 and 25. It will be God’s utopia, a peaceful and ideal environment, in fellowship with God. But we will have things to do. So, you see that we will not be sitting on clouds playing harps forever, as some imagine.
